Praca doktorska
The aim of this doctoral dissertation was to assess the usefulness of selected diagnostic methods in comparison to the cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). In article 1, the clinical usefulness of selected electrocardiographic criteria for left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) was assessed. The significance of the selected method of left ventricular mass indexing in the diagnosis of LVH was examined. Article 2 characterized the presence and determinants of ischemic and non-ischemic late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) features during CMR in heart failure patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction as assessed by echocardiography. Additionally, the clinical determinants of transmural LGE in the posterolateral left ventricular segments were investigated. The systematic review of the literature assessed the importance of selected imaging methods in comparison to CMR in the differential diagnosis of calcified fibrin sheath remaining after removal of the central venous catheter.
