The most common malignancy of the floor of the mouth is the squamous cell cancer that shows a varying degree of differentiation. The aim of the work is to evaluate the methods and the outcome of treatment of patients with the oral floor cancer treated in the period 1997-2006. Statistical analysis showed that patients with IVa-IVb stage presented shorter overall survival time than patients with lower stages, in patients with confirmed neck metastasis 5-year overall survival was shorter than in patients with pN0. The most important prognostic survival factors were histological differentiation G-3 and histopahtologically confirmed extracapsular spread (ECS). It was found that in patients with N(+)it is necessary to perform radical neck dissection. Chemo- and/or radiotherapy had no positive effect to overall survivor in patients with oral floor cancer.
